Nelson, Hayward and Sitton Dealing with Injuries

Receiver Jordy Nelson isn’t participating in OTAs because of offseason hip surgery. Cornerback Casey Hayward is dealing with a foot injury. Pro Bowl guard Josh Sitton’s toe injury, which he suffered last season and continued to play through, isn’t fully healed.

Let’s deal with Nelson first.

We knew he had hip surgery following the Pro Bowl. Everyone, including Nelson, has said the procedure was just to clean some things up. However, we will point out that Nelson’s recovery time was projected to be six-to-eight weeks. If he had the surgery in early February, he’s obviously well past the eight-week mark.
