Zags fail to complete weekend sweep, fall to San Francisco

“Today didn’t go as planned,” Assistant coach Brandon Harmon said. “Once you step back from today and realize you took a good series win versus a good ball club that’s gonna be competitive in our league…you got to feel pretty good about that.”

Pitching woes early hurt GU. The Zags’ starter, Daniel Bies, was able to squeak out of the first inning unharmed despite walking three batters.

The same could not be said of the second.

A pair of singles from SF and an error in the field loaded up the bases and ended Bies’ time on the mound.
