Josh Perkins closed out the 2015-2016 season walking off the court in tears, and this season is off to a rocky start for the incumbent starting point guard. Mark Few issued a statement today through the Gonzaga Athletic Department that the sophomore was charged with a gross misdemeanor.
Thomas Clouse of the Spokesman-Review reports the 21-year old Perkins was cited for “physical control of a vehicle while under the influence” at approximately 4am last Sunday (October 9), several hours after the team held Kraziness in the Kennel. Per the Spokesman-Review, Perkins will have a pre-trial hearing on November 10, the day before the team’s season opener against Utah Valley.
