Gonzaga steeplechaser becomes school's first male runner to qualify for NCAA Championships

Troy Fraley competes in the 3000m steeplechase at the 2017 Buc Scoring Meet at Whitworth University on March 18. Fraley placed first in the event.

Fraley became the first male athlete in Gonzaga Track & Field history to qualify for the NCAA Championships after placing first in his heat of the steeplechase with a time of 8:44.99. He is also the first Zag to ever win a NCAA West Regional event.

"[Troy] is elevating our program like no other." head coach Pat Tyson said. "I could not be prouder of this junior from Kalispell, Montana ... so pumped for Zag Nation!
