Warriors Pull Away Late, Move To 21-0 With 112-109 Road Win Over Raptors

The Golden State Warriors were in extreme danger of watching their NBA-record winning streak end at 20 games on Saturday night, but the Warriors once again came up big when they had to in a thrilling 112-109 road win over the Toronto Raptors.

Now 21-0, the Warriors continue on a hot streak for the record books that has been going for five-and-a-half weeks since the team's season-opening 112-109 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

It was a battle of star point guards all night long, with Stephen Curry dropping in 44 for the Warriors and Kyle Lowry countering with 41 for Toronto. Both Curry and Lowry dazzled in the teams' back-and-forth battle, but it was Curry and the Warriors who got the final blow in.

Curry posted his seventh 40-point game of the season in the loss. He has also tied the NBA records for games with 8+ 3s (6) and 9+ 3s (2) in a season, and it's only December 5th.

A back-and-forth affair all night long, an array of Kyle Lowry drives and knock-down jumpers put Toronto in position to send Golden State to its first loss of the 2015-16 season. However, 70 combined points between Curry and Klay Thompson, some clutch free throws late and a bad Toronto inbounds pass with just seconds to go sealed the deal for the Dubs.

Golden State will look to move to 22-0 when they travel to face the Brooklyn Nets in New York tomorrow. Toronto falls to 12-9 and will next host the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday.
