OAKLAND — While Barack Obama stepped to the stage for his farewell speech on Tuesday night in Chicago, Steve Kerr stepped to the podium for his pregame chat with reporters in Oakland.
Kerr was asked to reflect on his visit to the White House after the Warriors’ title and his memories of Obama’s presidency.
“It was surreal last year to be in there,” Kerr said. “He’s such a big basketball fan. To talk to him about basketball was really fun. To see the ease with which he communicated with our players, the humor, the joy, it was a phenomenal experience.
