Report: Ballmer, Clippers exploring sites for new arena

The Clippers are reportedly thinking about finding a new home.

The Clippers have played at the Staples Center since 1999.

In 2013, the Clippers entered into a 10-year extension at Staples, which runs through the 2023-24 season.

According to the report, the franchise would not move into a new arena until the end of the lease.

Ballmer purchased the Clippers in 2014 for $2 billion. He has repeatedly said that he will never move the team out of Los Angeles.

The Clippers share Staples with the Lakers and Kings.

"We're third guy in, we have third choice in dates," Ballmer told the Los Angeles Times in January.
