Warriors News: The Latest On Golden State's Pursuit Of Ray Allen

The Golden State Warriors made some waves last week when General Manager Bob Myers revealed the team was pursuing a deal with free agent SG Ray Allen.

Allen, the NBA's all-time leader in made three-pointers, would add veteran poise and championship experience for a team looking to make their first deep playoff run in recent history. While the Warriors have no shortage of three-point shooting, the ability to bring out a lineup of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Ray Allen would be a major advantage against teams who struggle to defend the perimeter.

So, what's the latest on Allen? Here's what we're hearing:

- The Cleveland Cavaliers are still believed to be leading the race for Allen, but their continued struggles have raised some doubts among NBA insiders that he'll eventually sign there.

- The Warriors have received 'no indication' that Allen is willing to sign in Golden State, per Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury-News...but it doesn't sound like there are any teams out there that have received an indication that he wants to play for them yet.

- The Los Angeles Clippers have emerged as another contender for Allen's signature, with Doc Rivers recently telling media that you could 'count him in' as a possible Allen suitor.

- The known teams currently interested in Allen: Cleveland, Memphis, Golden State, LA Clippers, San Antonio, Washington, Chicago.

- Allen, who isn't expected to make a decision until 2015, is expected to make his decision based on team culture and their odds of winning a championship. Right now, that's a good sign for the Warriors, Grizzlies and Wizards, but there's plenty of time for San Antonio, Cleveland, Chicago and the Clippers to make up some ground.
