Warriors NBA Draft Rumors: Everything You Need To Know Heading Into Thursday

We are just one day away from the 2015 NBA Draft, which means we're just one day away from reaching an end to all the speculation surrounding the Golden State Warriors' #30 pick. With that being said, here's everything Nets fans need to know heading into Thursday's draft showcase.

Cleveland as a draft day trade partner?

The Cavs have been linked to Golden State Warriors forward David Lee in trade rumors over the past few days, and such a trade could involve Brendan Haywood's expiring $10.5 million deal and the Cavs' #24 pick.

“The one thing that we did see in Golden State, and it was something that was very difficult for us to deal with, is they have an incredibly versatile team of multiple facilitating playmakers,” GM David Griffin said. “That’s something we’re going to continue to work upon. The more playmaking facilitators you have that know how to play the game, the better off you are, and I think you saw the value of that in the team that ultimately did win.”

While Griffin didn't specifically mention Lee by name, he is the one Warriors piece who is openly available in trade scenarios at this current juncture.

Warriors unlikely to sacrifice multiple picks for tax relief

The Golden State Warriors will be on the wrong end of the luxury tax line if they max out Draymond Green at around $15.8 million as expected -- a deal which would place them about $19.8 million over with David Lee's contract still on the books.

Regardless, Grantland's Zach Lowe doesn't see the Warriors packaging multiple picks in order to avoid paying a premium in tax penalties:

The Warriors almost certainly won’t sacrifice two picks for that financial relief, per league sources. They are raking in money, and they appear willing to absorb a moderate tax hit — the kind they would face if they were to buy Lee out or trade him for a player earning less money. The Warriors earned about $15 million in basketball-only activities last season, per a memo obtained by Grantland, and they should blow that away when this season’s numbers come in.
