The Golden State Warriors fell to the Houston Rockets in a 140 -109 loss yesterday in Houston, Texas. This is the Warriors largest loss of the season. We could be pessimistic and believe that the Warriors amazing season is now coming to an end. Instead we should all take a few pointers from Kent Bazemore.

Look up Kent Bazemore on YouTube and you won’t find his on-court highlight video but rather his sideline cheering videos. Bazemore has created a name for himself but not necessarily through his basketball abilities. He started what many people know as “bazemoring”. It has gone viral. Bazemoring is like football’s tebowing but for basketball.

Bazemore doesn’t receive many minutes on the court but he’s also rarely on the bench. You usually find the 6-foot 23-year-old rookie dancing and cheering around the bench for his teammates. Bazemore could be named the league’s top cheerleader.

He has real passion. He doesn’t care if he is constantly in the game or if he never goes in at all, he is there to cheer on his teammates and support his team. Bazemore has spread his energy to the rest of the team. The whole bench explodes when someone makes a dunk or you see the whole bench raise three fingers when someone makes a three-pointer. On February 2 Andrew Bogut was bazemoring when Kent Bazemore made a three-pointer against the Phoenix Suns. The bench make sure that Bazemore is not cheering alone.

The Warriors play for fun and Bazemore is the perfect representation for that. The Warriors have had a few minor setbacks but as long as they push through we should be seeing a lot more of Kent Bazemore bazemoring this season.
