Warriors Exercise Contract Option on Forward Marreese Speights for 2015-16 Season

The Golden State Warriors have exercised the team option on the contract of Marreese Speights for the 2015-16 season, the team announced today.

Speights, 27, appeared in 76 regular-season games (nine starts) for Golden State in 2014-15, averaging a career-high 10.4 points along with 4.3 rebounds in 15.9 minutes per contest. He led the Warriors in bench scoring a team-high 31 times, and drew 29 charges (second-most in the NBA). The 6’10” forward appeared in 10 postseason games, averaging 3.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 6.7 minutes.
