WHY THIS WILL BE WARRIORS GUARD STEPHEN CURRY'S BEST YEAR

With training camp starting next week the pressure is on Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry more than ever. Last year Curry did not live up to expectations, as he only played twenty-six games of the sixty-six game season. After a second surgery on his ankle, Curry is said to be back in time for Warriors training camp. With Curry entering this year healthy and ready to play, this should be the best season of his career thus far.

For the first time in his NBA career, Curry will be playing alongside a true center with a healthy Andrew Bogut taking the court this upcoming season. Curry has never played with a dominant center. He has spent his whole career playing alongside Andris Biedrins, who has struggled ever since the 2007 playoff run. We've watched Biedrins struggle year after year with his awkward free throw shots. Biedrins is a great rebounder, but he is not as aggressive as he has been in the past and an aggressive center is what the Warriors need. Curry doesn't know what it is like to play with a dominant center and Bogut has never been on a team with a dominant point guard. With these two working together the Warriors team is coming together right before our eyes. If both Bogut and Curry stay healthy this season the fans should be getting excited for this upcoming season!

It sucks that Monta Ellis is gone and if you’re a Warriors fan, I’m sorry I just reminded you of this tragedy. But look on the bright side… we have Klay Thompson! As of now, that probably doesn’t mean much to you, it didn’t mean much to me when Monta was stripped away from us as we cried and sobbed begging for his return. Look at it this way, Ellis and Curry were an outstanding backcourt duo, but Curry isn’t meant to be a shooting guard. Curry is a point guard! Ellis and Curry went back and forth playing either a shooting guard or point guard. It was pure confusion for the roles of both Curry and Ellis. Now with Thompson playing alongside Curry, there is no confusion. With Ellis gone, Curry is the point guard. That is his role and he doesn’t have to share it with anyone else. Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry will be a remarkable backcourt duo. They may even be better than Ellis and Curry, but we won’t know until the season starts. What we do know is that Thompson and Curry will be playing the positions that they know best and are the best at.

Now comes Curry’s cursed ankle. Last week, Curry was medically cleared to play this season, but isn’t that what they said last year? Hopefully they’re right this time. But if they aren’t right, it wouldn’t be that bad. Jarrett Jack is now on the roster, a veteran NBA player with seven years of experience in the NBA. That sounds like a pretty promising back up for Curry. So if he does get hurt once again, put your handkerchiefs away Warriors fans, Jarrett Jack is here to rescue us. Lets just hope that Curry won’t be spending the majority of the season sitting on the bench once again. We're expecting Curry to shine this year, bringing us one step closer to the playoffs.
