Instant Reaction: Stephen Curry Powers Warriors Past Rockets For 110-106 Game 1 Victory

Houston came out on fire and took advantage of a sluggish Golden State squad, building a sizable double-digit lead early. However, the Warriors caught fire late in the half and led 58-55 at the half. Golden State continued to roll and build their lead in the second half, holding on for the narrow, hard-fought victory.

Turning Point:

Once the Rockets took a 16-point lead in the second quarter, Golden State closed the half on a 26-6 run to take the lead and seize all of the momentum. They never trailed again.

Golden State MVP:

Stephen Curry was absolutely dynamite in this game after having some early shooting struggles as he finished with 34 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Shaun Livingston also had a huge night off the bench with 18 points, and Draymond Green nearly had a triple-double (13 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists).

Houston MVP:

James Harden displayed his excellent all-around game in this one with 28 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists, and four steals. Trevor Ariza also pitched in 20 points.
