LeBron James proclaimed himself as the best player in the world prior to Game 6 of the NBA Finals, but it was the MVP, Stephen Curry, who won the championship. Here is why Curry is the best player in the world over LeBron:
5) Clutch play
Not only has Curry hit numerous game-winners throughout his career, but he played his best when it mattered most in the Finals. He averaged over 10 points per game in the fourth quarter alone of the series, taking the game over when his team needed him the most.
4) Underrated defense
Curry's offense gets the praise (more on that later), but he's also one of the league's most underrated defenders. He averaged over two steals per game during the regular season, ranking among the league leaders in that category, and his quickness allows him to stay in front of his opponents.
3) Ball-handling prowess
Steph can get a little loose with his ball security from time to time, but his handles allow him to either create space for his deadly jumper or blow by his defender.
