Track and Field Ready for Sun Belt Outdoor Championship

STATESBORO, Ga. – Saturday afternoon, the Georgia Southern Track and Field team concluded events at the Georgia Tech Invitational. The Eagles capped off the weekend collecting a bundle of top-10 and top-25 finishes in Atlanta. This was the final preparation for the Eagles, before heading to Arlington, Texas in two weeks, for the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships.

Breanna Thornton crept her way into the top-25 for the Sun Belt conference in the 400 meter event this weekend. She was not the only Eagle that jumped into the Sun Belt standings this past weekend. Bailey Willett continues to sit in third place in the 800 meter events, but teammates Ellunde Montgomery (14th) and Jillian Sloane (15th), finished one tenth of a second apart in Atlanta boosting them into the standings.
