ATLANTA – Steven Fisk shot 69-69=138 (-6) to take third in the 36-hole U.S. Amateur qualifier at the Piedmont Driving Club Wednesday.
The junior earned a spot in the field of 312 competitors at the 117th playing of the U.S. Amateur in Los Angeles, Aug. 14-20. Bel-Air country club will host two rounds of stroke play, and the top-64 players will advance to match play at the Riviera Country Club.
Fisk continued his good play this summer after third-place finishes at the Southeastern Amateur and Dogwood Invitational. Reigning Australian Amateur champion Matias Sanchez was co-medalist at Piedmont Driving Club with mid-amateur Chris Waters of Atlanta at 7-under 137.
