Riggs Resigns As Georgia Southern Head Rifle Coach

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern director of athletics Tom Kleinlein announced Wednesday the resignation of head rifle coach Jim Riggs. Under Riggs's direction, the Eagles won the 2017 Southern Conference Air Rifle Championship, the first in the program's short four-year history.

Riggs joined the rifle program as the head coach of the Georgia Southern Eagles in 2015 and recently completed his second successful season. Riggs is an investigator with Bulloch County Sherriff's office and a 17-year veteran law enforcement officer.

"The rifle program has come a long ways in four short years, and Coach Riggs has a lot to do with that," Kleinlein said.
