Remembering the strangest “Cocktail Party” of them all

For a rivalry that is traditionally played the week of Halloween, it seems appropriate that the Florida-Georgia game is often so strange. It’s a rivalry that lives through catchphrases such as “Run, Lindsay, run,” “Half a hundred,” and “The Gator Stomp.” But possibly the biggest stunner of them all came when these teams met in 2014.

Georgia entered the game rolling, winners of five straight, including two shutouts, ranked #11 in the nation. Mark Richt’s squad was 6-1 with wins over Clemson and Tennessee at home and consecutive road wins over Missouri, the eventual SEC East champion, and Arkansas.
