Funding for practice facility going well at Georgia

“We’re edging up on $16 million,” athletic director Greg McGarity told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “So we’ve already exceeded our goal and we still have two big naming opportunities for the field and for the facility itself. … The challenge now is to fund the whole thing since we’ve accomplished what we’ve accomplished, which is a lot in a short time.”

The AJC reports that a majority of the money has come from pledges to the newly formed “Magill Society,” named after legendary tennis coach and sports information director Dan Magill. Donors must pay at least $25,000 over a five-year period to be part of this group.
