First objective for Georgia in the Florida game? Keep the emotions in check

ATHENS, Ga. — For both Georgia and Florida, their annual meeting against each other generally is each’s most anticipated game of the year.

On one hand, there’s the bragging rights that the winner claims over their rival from the neighboring state.

But on the other, as traditionally two of the top teams in the SEC East, the matchup has often served as a de facto divisional title game with the winner ultimately advancing to the SEC championship game.

And yet, while the latter point no long seems plausible for 4-3 Georgia, that’s not to say the game still won’t mean something for the players.
