D’Antne Demery released from letter of intent

Following an overnight arrest that landed him in the Athens jail, Brunswick offensive tackle D’Antne Demery has been released from his national letter of intent with the University of Georgia according to a university statement.

Various reports released this morning indicated that Demery was involved in an incident in downtown Athens in which he is alleged to have pushed the mother of his child up against a wall. Those same sources cited a past history of abuse in the relationship.

Under the circumstances, it sounds as if the UGA administration and staff made the only decision which they reasonably could.
