Halftime Quick Hitters: South Carolina Leads Georgia 24-13 at the Half

The Georgia Bulldogs head to South Carolina to take on the Gamecocks in an early season SEC matchup.

After waiting out a 90 minute weather delay, both teams came out firing, trading touchdowns over the first five minutes of the game.

That trend continued throughout the first half, and both teams have some gaudy numbers to this point.

Quarterback Dylan Thompson has led the way for the Gamecocks, going 18 of 25 for 232 yards and three scores.

His top receivers so far have been junior Shaq Roland, who has four catches for 47 yards and a touchdown and Rory Anderson with four catches for 57 yards and a score.

Georgia has not had as much time with the football, thanks to a turnover and a quick score in the first quarter. Quarterback Hutson Mason is 9/12 for 132 yards and a touchdown.

Todd Gurley has been explosive with limited touches, but would have had an even bigger day if his 60 yard touchdown run hadn't been negated by a holding call. As it stands, he still put up 44 yards on just eight carries (5.5 YPC).

Stat to keep an eye on: After setting a school record with 293 all purpose yards in Georgia's first game, Gurley has been limited to just 44 yards on 11 touches at the half.

Top Performers:

Georgia: Todd Gurley - 44 yards rushing on eight carries
