WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's basketball freshman guard Dionna White (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Monday after leading the Hoyas (13-10, 6-7 BIG EAST) to a 1-1 weekend.
White averaged 19.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.5 steals, while playing 79 of a possible 80 minutes in Georgetown’s two games this past weekend. In a thrilling 75-72 win over Marquette on Friday, White just missed out on a triple-double, finishing with 15 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, while also chipping in five steals. She had 11 points in the final, decisive quarter.
