Per reports, Georgetown has hired Hofstra assistant coach Akbar Waheed.
Georgetown's John Thompson III will hire Hofstra's Akbar Waheed as an assistant coach, sources told @CBSSports.

Waheed replaces either Kevin Sutton or Tavaras Hardy, both of whom left Georgetown this offseason for Pitt and Georgia Tech, respectively. JTIII's staff now includes longtime assistant Kevin Broadus, Waheed, and Patrick Ewing, Jr., though there is some question as to whether Ewing, Jr. has been elevated to an assistant or remains as the Director of Basketball Operations.
