Fresno State fired football coach Tim DeRuyter on Sunday, according to sources, a day after the Bulldogs lost their sixth straight game of the season to fall to 1-7.
Fresno State Athletic Director Jim Bartko has scheduled a news conference at noon Sunday to discuss the future of the program.
DeRuyter took over as Bulldogs coach in 2012 and won Mountain West championships in his first two seasons while compiling a 20-6 record.
With Saturday’s loss at Utah State, DeRuyter’s record fell to 30-30.
