Florida State Football Recruiting: Tuesday Rumors Roundup

The Florida State Seminoles had another successful season that brought them another ACC Championship, but it ended with a disappointing loss to Oregon in the Rose Bowl. FSU is looking to reload for 2015 and beyond on the recruiting trail to return to the College Football Playoff. Who’s on their way to Tallahassee? Who’s still deciding? All this and more in our recruiting roundup:

FSU DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR VISITING FIVE-STAR DT

Florida State defensive coordinator Charles Kelly will be in East St. Louis, (IL) to visit five-star defensive tackle Terry Beckner, Jr. tonight. Beckner is one of the top uncommitted prospects in the nation.

FSU recruiting coordinator and tight end coach Tim Brewster, Beckner Jr.'s primary recruiter, is joining Kelly on the visit. Head coach Jimbo Fisher is expected to visit Beckner next week.

Beckner Jr. made his visit to FSU in November when they played Florida. He is also considering Ohio State, Missouri, Auburn, and LSU.

JIMBO FISHER TO VISIT FIVE-STAR DE TOMORROW

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher will visit five-star defensive end Byron Cowart tomorrow, along with assistant coach Lawrence Dawsey.

Cowart is the highest rated unsigned unsigned defensive end in the country, and is expected to be a package deal with CeCe Jefferson, another five-star DE from Florida.

Cowart took an official visit to Auburn this past weekend, and has scheduled a visit to Florida State the weekend before Signing Day.
