World Cup: Finland blanked 2-0 by Sweden

After getting beat 4-1 by Team North America, Finland’s offense continued to struggle in a 2-0 loss to arch-rival Sweden.

The 0-2 Finns will wrap up round robin play in Group B against Russia (1-1) on Thursday. It’s highly unlikely they will advance to the semi-finals, but they could take the Russians down with them.

Tampa Bay’s Anton Stralman scored the go-ahead midway through the second period with the assists going to the Sedin twins.

Loui Eriksson iced the game with with an empty-netter with three seconds left on the clock.

Aleksander Barkov logged 18:26 of ice time and finished the game with two shots on goal, one hit, one block and a -1 rating.
