The Springfield Thunderbirds (15-14-5-2) remained in sixth place in the AHL’s Atlantic Division after dropping games to Albany and Providence this weekend.
Springfield 3, Albany 2 (OT)
Shane Harper scored 1:45 into overtime, from Brody Sutter and Matt MacKenzie, to give the Thunderbirds a 3-2 road win on Friday. Albany’s Jacob MacDonald opened the scoring eleven minutes into the first period with a shorthanded goal. Dylan MacIlrath tied the tilt at 11:58 of the second with his first of the year from Sutter and Anthony Greco. Ben Sexton put the Devils back on top 2:35 later.
