The Portland Pirates, the AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers, defeated the Hershey Bears 2-1 in triple overtime on Thursday night in Game 3 of the Calder Cup Atlantic Division Semifinals at the GIANT Center in Hershey, Pa. Game 4 in the series is set for Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in Hershey.
Forward Rob Flick scored the game winner at 3:10 of the third overtime to give the Pirates a 2-1 series lead in the best-of-five series with the Bears. Forwards Rob Schremp and Corban Knight assisted on the winning goal.
“It feels pretty special but it was a team effort,” said Flick of the game-winning goal.
