Luongo, Cats At Home Against Capitals

SUNRISE (SportsDirect Inc.) — The Washington Capitals hope to break out offensively for the first time this season when they pay a visit to the Florida Panthers on Thursday night.

The Capitals, who led the Eastern Conference in scoring in 2015-16, have put up seven goals in the first three games and posted their initial two power-play tallies in a 3-0 triumph against Colorado on Tuesday.

“The power play wasn’t bad, but we talked about needing a little bit more execution and a little bit more finish,” Washington coach Barry Trotz told reporters. “They were sharper, and then they got rewarded.
