The Toronto Maple Leafs, despite continuously receiving countless phone calls from rival GM’s on JVR’s current availability, apparently seem to be contempt with retaining his services for another year. However, re-signing the highly coveted Van Riemsdyk isn’t a realistic possibility due to Toronto’s cap issues. Therefore, a winger-hungry team such as the Florida Panthers should certainly attempt to lure the 28-year-old to the sunshine state.
The Cats will be experimenting with an abundance of unproven wingers heading into the 2016-17 campaign. Examples include: Evgeni Dadonov, Owen Tippett , Maxim Mamin , Henrik Hapaala, Jayce Hawryluk , etc.
