GAINESVILLE — The past two seasons, Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason has taken victories where he could find them.
Rarely did the incremental progress translate to wins.
Now Mason hopes, perhaps needs during Year Three in Nashville, to deliver success everyone can appreciate.
"I definitely think this team is moving in the right direction," he said.
An upset of the No 23 Florida Gators (3-1, 1-1 SEC) Saturday at home would be a quantum leap for the Commodores (2-2, 1-0).
In 2015, Mason's crew nearly derailed the Gators' SEC East title run, but succumbed 9-7 in the Swamp on a late Florida field goal.
