UF Notebook: Tabor, Lewis return from weeklong suspensions

A little more than a week after they were suspended from the team for their heated altercation on the practice field, cornerback Jalen Tabor and tight end C’yontai Lewis were welcomed back Thursday.

The two returned to practice, but remain suspended from the Sept. 3 opener against UMass.

UF coach Jim McElwain said he has addressed the Tabor-Lewis situation with the team.

“We talked about it as a family and our expectations. Off we go,” McElwain said.

As for the three other players facing a possible suspension for the opener — wide receivers Antonio Callaway, Tyrie Cleveland and Rick Wells — there is no official word yet on their status.
