Teez Tabor selected by Detroit Lions in second round of 2017 NFL Draft

Much of the pre-NFL Draft chatter about Teez Tabor revolved around his slow times in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and Florida’s Pro Day during the run-up to April’s Draft.

It didn’t take him that long to go from draftee to drafted, though.

The Detroit Lions made the Florida Gators’ stellar cornerback their second Gator selected in the 2017 NFL Draft on Friday, snagging him with the 53rd overal pick in the second round.

Tabor’s decision to enter the NFL Draft after the 2016 season and skip his senior season seemed to be a foregone conclusion as early as last spring, as the presumed star of Florida’s secondary was widely expected to be a first round pick for much of 2016.
