Sophomore running back leaving Florida

Jordan Cronkrite is leaving the Florida football program.

The second-year running back was granted permission by UF this week to start looking at transfer destinations, as first reported by 247Sports.

"We wish Jordan nothing but the best,” coach Jim McElwain said in a written statement, “and will do everything we can to support and assist him and help him get what he wants."

Cronkrite rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries in the 2016 campaign, placing him fourth on the running back depth chart.

He was touted as the leader of the four-man running back group coming out of preseason camp, but a preseason injury set him back, and he was never able to reclaim the job.
