Jon Bullard waited an extra year to live his NFL dream.
Friday night, the Gators defensive lineman had to wait again.
Bullard had hoped to slip into the first round of the NFL draft after a spectacular senior season. Instead, he slipped all the way into the third round until the Chicago Bears selected him with the No. 72.
Bullard was the 22nd defensive lineman selected during a draft deep in talent at the position. Bullard starred at defensive tackle for the Gators in 2015, was a third-team All-America and seemed poised to join former UF stars Sharrif Floyd (2012), Dominique Easley (2013) and Dante Fowler Jr.
