GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Though he might catch you staring, Alex Anzalone doesn’t mind the head-turning that is inspired by his flowing, blonde locks. He also gets a kick out of hearing people call him “Thor.”
But he does draw the line at being called “Sunshine,” and he admits to having a breaking point for when his signature hair may need a trim: “When people start coming from behind to see if I’m a girl or a boy.”
That shouldn’t be a problem given how he’s performed this season. But until now, the most frequent question Anzalone had to answer during his injury-plagued first three years was how to pronounce his name.
