Former FAU 2B Stephen Kerr signs with Los Angeles Angels

Former Florida Atlantic second baseman Stephen Kerr signed a free-agent contract with the Los Angeles Angels, becoming the second Owl to join a major-league organization this year.

Kerr finished his career in Boca Raton as the Owls’ all-time leader in starts, at-bats and assists. During his senior season in 2017, Kerr slashed .269/.397/.446 with six home runs.

Kerr also ranks in FAU’s top five in walks, hits, runs and stolen bases.

Right-handed pitcher Alex House signed with the Astros on June 20 after Houston selected him in the 24th round of the MLB draft.
