FAU's rush defense took a step forward in loss to Marshall

FAU defensive coordinator Roc Bellantoni talks about his defense's performance against the run during the Owls loss to Marshall last weekend.

Though Florida Atlantic was on the road, the Owls owned the ground during their 27-21 loss to Marshall on Saturday night.

FAU racked up 281 rushing yards on offense and limited Marshall to 106 yards on the ground. For the first time in three years, the Owls had two 100-yard rushers (Gregory "Buddy" Howell and Devin "Motor" Singletary).

Both FAU coach Charlie Partridge and defensive coordinator Roc Bellantoni said it was the best run defense the Owls played since they arrived prior to the 2014 season.
