Florida Atlantic quarterback Jason Driskel may not even start for the Owls this season, but he’s found his way onto a preseason award watch list.
On Wednesday morning, Driskel was one of 47 college quarterbacks named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list. The award annually goes to the top senior (or fourth-year junior) quarterback in the country. Driskel will be a redshirt junior in 2017.
Driskel was one of five Conference USA quarterbacks to make the list, joining Ryan Metz (UTEP), Brent Stockstill (Middle Tennessee), Dalton Sturm (UTSA), and Mike White (Western Kentucky).
