FAU deals with yet another lightning delay

It shouldn't have come as a surprise to any of the veteran Florida Atlantic football players.

About 90 minutes before kickoff, they experienced what has become a common occurrence. The players were escorted off the field and asked to return to the locker room after lightning was spotted in the area. It was the first of two delays that caused kickoff for Saturday's game against Ball State to be pushed back 55 minutes.

The Owls are no strangers to the situation, especially the past two seasons. Last year they had two games interrupted by lightning, with both causing momentum-shifting delays that led to losses.
