Florida Atlantic's recent close losses have given its coaches reason to tout that their program is ripe for a breakthrough. ESPN does not agree.
In Tuesday's installment of a weekly series titled "The Bottom 10," ESPN's Ryan McGee ranked FAU at the bottom of 128 FBS teams. McGee wrote: "These Owls are firmly nested on a branch of a tree that overlooks Heartbreak Ridge."
McGee placed the Owls in the unwanted No. 1 spot the week before as well, after FAU's last-second loss to Charlotte. FAU first appeared in the rankings Oct.
