2017 Fantasy Football: Impact of Eagles Cutting Ryan Mathews

On Tuesday, the Philadelphia Eagles cut RB Ryan Mathews after passing his physical. This came out of nowhere even though the Eagles signed LeGarrette Blount this offseason. Mathews, the former Pro-Bowler, definitely has a chance to still make a roster this season, and could help some teams in need of a starting-caliber RB.

This move helps out the Eagles because they do not need to keep five RB’s now. They only have to keep four who could actually help the team out as a whole. Blount looks to be the primary back going into the 2017 season, with Darren Sproles being the threat out of the backfield that can help an offense explode.
