Fantasy Football RB Rankings: Week 6

The running back group is thin this year, meaning you might be in a tough spot at times this season. At least you have my rankings to help you out. The byes do some damage, but you should be okay this week. I list the top 45, because beyond that, there aren't many players worth owning.

Byes: Kansas City Chiefs & New Orleans Saints

Last Update: Oct. 9

Other Rankings: Other Rankings: QB, RB, WR, TE, DEF

Rank & Player Opponent Notes
1. Marshawn Lynch, SEA DAL Lynch could go off this week.
2. Le'Veon Bell, PIT @CLE A solid matchup this week for Bell.
3. Matt Forte, CHI @ATL Forte has a great matchup this week.
4. Gio Bernard, CIN CAR Bernard is the Bengals' go-to back this year.
5. Arian Foster, HOU IND The issue with Foster is his health, but he looks good to go. He played really well last week.
6. Eddie Lacy, GB @MIA Lacy had a monster week last time out.
7. Andre Ellington, ARI WAS Told you Ellington would score last week.
8. DeMarco Murray, DAL SEA This is a really bad matchup this week, but you almost have to play Murray.
9. LeSean McCoy, PHI NYG The touches are there. The fantasy points will come soon.
10. Frank Gore, SF @STL Gore is a high-end RB2 this week.
11. Ben Tate, CLE PIT Tate played well last week. He's worth an RB2 start.
12. Lamar Miller, MIA GB Miller's value is dependent on Moreno not playing this week.
13. Andre Williams, NYG @PHI With Jennings hurt, Williams becomes the starter. And I like Williams a lot.
14. Branden Oliver, SD @OAK From the No. 4 RB on the Chargers to starting in six week. Crazy.
15. Alfred Morris, WAS @ARI Not a great matchup this week for Morris.
16. Ahmad Bradshaw, IND @HOU I prefer Bradshaw to Richardson. He could have a nice week.
17. Fred Jackson, BUF NE He'll get some touches, but his maximum value won't be reached unless Spiller goes down.
18. Ronnie Hillman, DEN ARI With Ball out, starting duties likely shift to Hillman.
19. Zac Stacy, STL SF Stacy has a tough matchup and is coming off an injury.
20. Doug Martin, TB BAL Martin has a tough matchup this week.
21. C.J. Spiller, BUF NE Spiller has been out-produced by Jackson so far this year.
22. Justin Forsett, BAL @TB He put up 15 points last week, but he only had six carries.
23. Joique Bell, DET @MIN Bell has a concussion, but he might be able to play. Plus, Reggie Bush is out. This is a risk-reward move.
24. Matt Asiata, MIN DET Terrible matchup this week.
25. Chris Ivory, NYJ SD Ivory has seen more touches than Johnson so far.
26. Stevan Ridley, NE @BUF Ridley went off against the Bengals, but has a tough matchup this week. Of course, they had a tough matchup last week too.
27. Shane Vereen, NE @BUF Vereen looked good last week, but doesn't have the greatest matchup.
28. Steven Jackson, ATL CHI Jackson's value comes from touchdowns, but he has a good matchup.
29. Bishop Sankey, TEN JAC Good matchup this week, but Sankey needs to start getting more touches before you can start him.
30. Darren Sproles, PHI NYG Sproles had two big games, but his production has dropped since then.
31. Trent Richardson, IND @HOU Richardson has looked like a complete bust.
32. Bobby Rainey, TB BAL I could see Rainey surpassing Martin at some point.
33. Darren McFadden, OAK SD McFadden is the starter, but he hasn't really done much this season.
34. Storm Johnson, JAC @TEN I thought Johnson was the best player on the UCF team led by Blake Bortles. Now he'll get a chance to show what he can do.
35. Jerick McKinnion, MIN DET McKinnon might eventually usurp Asiata as the starter.
36. Chris Johnson, NYJ DEN You know the risks of playing Johnson. He'll do a lot or barely anything. So far, he hasn't done much.
37. Antone Smith, ATL CHI First time Smith has made the top 45. He doesn't get many touches, but he always seems to produce big plays.
38. Darrin Reaves, CAR CIN With Williams and Stewart out, Reaves is the No. 1 back in Carolina. But he's got a bad matchup this week.
39. Jeremy Hill, CIN CAR He's a handcuff for Bernard. He does vulture a few touchdowns though.
40. Shonne Greene, TEN JAC I suspect he's finally been surpassed by Sankey.
41. Lorenzo Taliaferro, BAL @TB He might be the most talented back on the roster.
42. Roy Helu, WAS @ARI He's a decent backup in PPR, but not so much in standard leagues.
43. Bernard Pierce, BAL @TB I think Pierce has fallen out of favor.
44. Reggie Bush, DET @MIN Nursing an ankle injury. He's one to monitor throughout the week.
45. Knowshon Moreno, MIA GB I'm not sure Moreno will be able to play. Monitor him closely.
