Edmonton Oilers Win Preseason Double-Header Against Flames

The Edmonton Oilers put up a strong fight in their first preseason game against the Calgary Flames, as both split-squad teams put up wins against the Flames Monday. Edmonton’s home team won 4-2, and the Oilers away group won 2-1. This marks the first time the Oilers have won a game at Roger’s Place.

Iiro Pakarinen opened the scoring for Edmonton at Roger’s Place, scoring on a feed from Mitch Moroz and Kyle Platzer. The team would fall 2-1 after the first period, until Matthew Benning tied it up on the power play around three minutes into the third period.
