Edmonton Oilers: Takeaways from Overtime Loss to Buffalo

The Edmonton Oilers fell once again in overtime, dropping a late lead and eventually falling to Buffalo, 3-2.

Despite a strong second and third period, the Oilers couldn’t keep up the momentum to get those two points. Here’s everything you need to know.

Oilers Dropped Lead Late

Not only did the Oilers have a sloppy start, but they couldn’t finish with a triumphant comeback. In the second period, Jordan Eberle and Milan Lucic tied the game at two. Drake Caggiula proved to be the true star of the second, putting up two assists.

After that, Leon Draisaitl put up a goal in the third to give the Oilers a late 3-2 lead, which they dropped with less than 30 seconds to go in the third.
