From the get-go, the Oilers were outplayed. The team looked sloppy and weak, and none of them seemed prepared.
“We looked like the Bad News Bears,” head coach Todd McLellan said of the team’s performance. “We had guys falling all over the place. Nobody was ready to play.”
Despite the negative takeaways from the loss, the one positive to hang on to was how the players responded. Their comments indicate that they can take accountability, truly let their poor play sink in and come back stronger.
