Edmonton Oilers Prospect Profiles: LW Tyler Benson

After Jesse Puljujarvi fell into the Edmonton Oilers’ hands in the first round, they decided to return to their roots for their second-round pick, electing to go with Tyler Benson at 32nd overall. The Edmonton-born left winger is currently captain of the WHL’s Vancouver Giants, and yet another player that the Oilers won in the draft.

The 6-foot, 201-pound left winger is not only big, but he is capable of generating offense and making big plays. In 30 games this past season with the Giants, he registered 28 points (nine goals, 19 assists) and racked up 46 PIMs.
