Edmonton Oilers Prospect Profiles: Ethan Bear

Connor McDavid isn’t the only gem the Edmonton Oilers got out of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. In the fifth round, the Oilers drafted Ethan Bear, a little-known WHL defenseman, 124th overall. No one knew, however, that the late draft pick would go on to have an unbelievable breakout season.

This past season for the Seattle Thunderbirds, Bear dominated with 65 points (19 goals, 46 assists) in just 69 games. Not to mention, the 5-foot-11, 198 pound defender finished with 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) in just 18 postseason games, leading the Thunderbirds to an impeccable playoff campaign.
