Jujhar Khaira was injured in the first period against the Florida Panthers. He wouldn’t return for the rest of the night and was deemed to have an upper-body injury.
Following the game, head coach Todd McLellan said Khaira will be “out a bit.” Khaira will see a doctor Thursday and won’t play Friday.
However, Khaira’s injury is not a good sign. The Oilers are expected to make a call-up and will have to go without their call-up on the bottom-six. Khaira has great speed and ability to start the rush, and can also crash the net and create chances.
